Lily is Here!

Our family now includes a sister.  Lily weighed in at 9lbs. 6 oz.,  20.5 inches long, and 14.5 inches head circumference.  Sorry she wouldn't look at the camera while she was being weighed.

Lily had been teasing us for a while, but I finally decided it was time to go at about 3 a.m.  When we got there,  I was already at 6.5cm. but my contractions still weren't very consistent.  My doctor told me he was afraid if I got the epidural right away that it might stop my labor.  I said I could wait.  I got to an 8 and he told me if he broke my water I would probably deliver within 30 minutes.  I was still doing just fine, so I decided to not have an epidural.  Things started getting intense at about 8.5cm.  That is about when we discovered that Lily was face up.  That made things take a lot longer and be more complicated.  The doctor tried to get her to rotate by having me hold a huge beach ball thing between my knees.  That  really started to hurt.  When I got to a 10 she still hadn't turned so we just got started pushing anyway.  I think that is when Reed really started questioning my decision to not get the epidural.  Luckily I only had to push for 5 minutes, because I was really starting to question my decision too.  I told mom I had a whole new respect for her giving birth to twins, because if they had made me push out another baby I would have just died.
We were up all night...especially me, and plus I just went through labor and delivery, so that is why I look so stinkin' tired.  After Reed took my picture with Lily, he laughed and said "You look tired."  I told him to try again.  So this picture is me trying to look perkier.  Isn't that Sad?!
Ha!  I took this picture of Reed and I told him he looked really tired too.
Me with all 4.  I can't say just me and my boys anymore.
Eric is so excited for a sister.  He said from the very beginning that she was a girl.  He never doubted.
 She's already Daddy's little girl.
She is getting prettier all the time.  She is sweet.
She receives a lot of love.  Good thing she came out big so she can withstand it all.

I already love her so much I can hardly stand it! I'm so excited to meet her/so sad that it won't be until Christmas!

I love her, too! If I'm sick at Christmas, someone is getting a punch to the face because I refuse to not be able to hold/squish/hug/kiss/love another baby! You've all been warned.

A great big huge congrats for a fabulous 9 pounder. (Aren't big babies fun!...At least once they are outside instead of in. :) ) Just be aware, baby #4 grows about twice as fast as the others, especially when they start out bigger.

Enjoy every moment!!

PS we still love little girls at our house, at least until they are teenagers :)
